Layne Norton's pec tear

Last week I was pressing and I felt a hot streak go across my chest. My own damned fault, I was rushing through my workout and did not execute proper form. I went to the ER that night and they thought it was just a bad strain. I iced it let it rehab and it felt better last week, then I was brushing my teeth yesterday and noticed that my right pec is indeed deformed. I am quite sure it is torn, I have a appointment with an doc today to schedule an MRI. Hopefully surgery can be done to fix the deformation. I have posted pics of the damage, makes me sick to my stomach to see these, knowing it will only look worse dieted down. Makes me wonder how successful I'll ever be now. Chest was a strong point for me and that looks like it will not be the case anymore, I am not the most genetically gifted guy to begin with so hopefully there is a way to fix it.

actually the funny thing is it didn't really hurt. either that or my pain tolerance is high enough that I didn't perceive it as a bad injury. One of the reasons I thought it might not be torn was 1) it didn't bruise and 2) everyone i know who has torn one has said it is incredibly painful and I never got that

I just got back from the surgeon. Again, I have good news and I have bad news.
The good news is this guy is a great surgery, he did surgeries for the chicago bears and I really like him. My insurance will also most likely cover the surgery as well.
The bad news is this pec tear is a worst case scenario pec tear. He actually thinks some of the tearing is in the muscle belly itself and is unrepairable. He is not even sure that surgery will help it at all but the only way to find out is to get in there and see. This is the only chance I've got to get this thing better and so I have to take the risk.
I appreciate everyone's comments about my work ethic and how hard I work, but I'm afraid hard work is not going to bring my pec back to health or shape. That is out of my hands at this point and that is the hardest part of this whole thing.

done feeling sorry for myself. got surgery in a few hours. this is going to work and if it doesn't I'll figure out something else. I won't let this write my bodybuilding eulogy. count on that!

Klote moment voor hem, omdat hij vol in de bulk zit en met dit vet eigenlijk geen inactiviteit kan gebruiken. Aangezien dat vet geen probleem is omdat bij volle harde trainingen het er naderhand simpel af te cutten is. Nu wordt de spiermasdsa/vet ratio nadelig verstoord. Hele stofwisseling en hormoonhuishouding ook als het te lang gaat duren.

Overigens vind ik het opvallend dat iemand met zijn educatie en jarenlange fysieke inverstering, zich stoot aan een basissteen.

Sinds ik op m'n 19de m'n enige blessure aan m'n voorste schouderkop had met bankdrukken (direct 80 kg na 50 kg), leidt ik het bloed geleidelijk naar m'n spier met langzame gecontroleerde negatieve reps. Ookal kan ik grotere stappen maken in gewicht voor m'n gevoel.

Sinds ik op m'n 19de m'n enige blessure aan m'n voorste schouderkop had met bankdrukken (direct 80 kg na 50 kg), leidt ik het bloed geleidelijk naar m'n spier met langzame gecontroleerde negatieve reps. Ookal kan ik grotere stappen maken in gewicht voor m'n gevoel.

Blessures zuigen big time. En zeker als je van BB moet leven.

Toch ben ik van mening dat veel blessures in topsport terug te koppelen zijn naar te flitsend willen. Als bodybuilder heb je toch de neiging om kort na het begin van je training al gauw op het knalhoogtepunt te willen zijn, de pomp max voelen en een gevoel van kracht en beheersing uit de losse pols.

Soms is het moelijk je verstand de doorslag te laten geven, denk maar aan je tijd dat je na het weekend borst en armen ging trainen, terwijl je rug of benen aan de beurt waren.

Zo hou je op topniveau ook zaken over, als je kijkt hoe in het prof voertbal soms wordt ingehakt op enkels vraag je je af of ze uberhaupt wel weten of daar pezen zitten...
